A Christmas Meditation

This week, in lieu of a normal sermon, TGP did something more interactive. We held a Christian Meditation Session. As the Scriptures recount numerous times “Meditate on the Law of the Lord”, so we allocated a Sunday morning to do just that.

Keeping in line with Jesus’ recitation of Deuteronomy 6 “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength,” we set out to engage as much of that as possible.

Heart & Soul: We engaged the Lord with the seat of our emotions and spirit by making Him the center of our focus.

Mind: We engaged the Lord with our minds by having Scriptures recited over and over so we can mentally reflect on it.

Strength/Body: We engaged the Lord with our strength/body by engaging as many senses as we could. We engaged site through images and Scriptures on the screen. We engaged hearing by having the Scriptures spoken. We engaged touch by handing out cross pendants (to engage a tactile function). And for those that spoke the scriptures along with the narration, we engaged our mouths in speaking. In total, there were 4 physical ways we could interact with the Word of the Lord.

You can do the same with this podcast episode.
