We Believe

  1. God created the heavens and the earth as well as everything in it.
  2. God created humans to be in relationship to Him and each other.
  3. When humanity chose to break relationship with God, it introduced pain and devastation due to the broken relationship. Humanity pitted itself against God and against each other.
  4. This was all prompted by the enemy of God called the “Devil.”
  5. God designed a plan for humanity to be brought back to right relationship with Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
  6. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross wiped away our guilt before the Father and made a way for us to cease committing destructive behavior.
  7. Jesus was resurrected after 3 days and ascended to heaven.
  8. Jesus sent the promised Holy Spirit to empower people to live in right relationship to God, each other, and the natural world.
  9. It is the church’s mission to bring the Good News of our opportunity to have right relationship with God to people who are unaware of it.
  10. It is the church’s (every believer’s) privilege to partner with God to bring right relationship.
  11. The Bible is the Word of God and is inerrant regarding salvation, faith, and practice.
  12. The teachings and ethics of the Bible are the foundation for restoring right relationship.
  13. Learning, living, and maintaining right relationship is what we call holiness.
  14. In the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit. They live in perfect relationship to one another and desire to share that with humanity.
  15. The call of the Good News (Gospel) is for everyone.
  16. God loves people enough to meet them where they are emotionally, spiritually, culturally, physically, financially, and relationally.
  17. God loves people enough to call them out of where they are. This involves believer’s conforming their lives and lifestyles to be in line with the morality and ethics of the Bible.
  18. No person can fully embody perfect, right relationships, and therefore must accept the work of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill what God has created them to be.
  19. Jesus will one day physically return and bring the dead back to life.
  20. During Jesus’ return, He will set all the wrongs to right, overthrow corrupt rulers and economic powers, and will initiate a kingdom ruled by saints, with Himself overseeing it all.
  21. The wicked will be cast away from God’s presence for eternity, condemned to live in separation from God in suffering according to their deeds, along with the devil and his followers.
